“The River of God”
To arrange a class requires work and a continual recognition that it is a spiritual experience. A class takes place not just for the benefit of those who attend it, but for the benefit of all mankind. Consciousness cannot be personalized or limited in any direction. The truth that unfolds in Consciousness goes out wherever there is receptivity.
I remember years ago hearing Joel talk about receiving a short, concise manuscript about the unfolding of truth from a woman who received it while traveling in an airplane. She had not read Joel’s books and was not interested in any particular metaphysical or mystical message, but she was in a state of receptivity and wrote down the message as it unfolded. Later, she picked up one of Joel’s books in a bookstore and realized it was the same text! So she wrote Joel, telling him of the unfoldment and sending the manuscript. He wrote back to say, “You received the message that was being given in London at the same time that you tuned in.”
Have you ever been receptive on an airplane? Sometimes there is nothing we care to read or do – we just want to be. In that state of beingness and receptivity, whatever our spiritual need might be, it will unfold in our experience. Often when I am alone and driving a car, I don’t play music or a tape, but find myself in a state of receptivity and attention that is necessary to receive the Message and in this atmosphere, the truth unfolds.
